Police and other law enforcement personnel recently made at stop at Abbotsford News as part of their 800km ride to help fight and raise awareness of childhood cancer.
The group of 22 individuals included four from the area. The gruelling nine-day ride will take them across the province, with stops in Abbottsford, Hope, Agassiz, Chiliwack, Fraser and Boston Bar. They’ll also be stopping in Langley, Surrey, and elsewhere in the region.
Along the way, they will be pausing at local businesses and schools to talk about the reasons for their ride, and to raise money for the cause. According to the team captain, each rider’s bike bears the name of a youngster who is bravely fighting the disease. This provides them with the inspiration they need to keep going, no matter what the conditions.
The ride takes place each year, and involves police and first responders from all across BC. So far this year, with the help of their sponsors, they have raised around $255,497. The funds will be used to help support research.
An event such as this not only raises funds, but also awareness of a cause. A printing company can help by creating Banners and other promotional items, as well as bike decorations and bibs for the riders that explain who they are and why they are undertaking the ride.Get a Free Quote for Banners
