The Down’s Syndrome community has issued an invitation to one and all to be part of an activity that will raise both funds and awareness.
Abbotsford’s Mill Lake has been chosen to be the location of the 2022 Walk for Down’s Syndrome Awareness, and everyone is welcome to attend. Activities for kids and adults alike are on the agenda, and while are having fun, the participants will also be showing those living with the condition that they are important and valued members of the community.
The plans for the day include door prize draws, a silent auction and a walk around Mill Lake, and admission starts at $10. The monies raised will help to support programming such as music therapy, a lending library, guest speakers and other assistance. The activity will be held rain or shine.
Many organizations host walk or run fundraisers, and they often choose to have specialty designed Banners at the start and finish lines. These are just some of the items that will be on offer at a local banner printing company.
The Fraser Valley Down Syndrome Society has made plans to host the 2022 Walk for Down’s Syndrome Awareness on June 18th at Mill Lake. Its website offers links to register, donate, volunteer or to simply find out more about the event.
