Abbotsford to host BC Culture Days

The city of Abbotsford will be a hub for the province’s Culture Days celebration this fall, aiming to showcase diverse modes of culture.

The festival will take place across the city, beginning with a kick-off event hosted at the Reach Gallery museum. The free event will include comments from local government representatives, live music, interactive art activities for families, tours of art exhibits, and other cultural programming. There will be live musical performances throughout the month-long period by artists such as Brander Raven, Amy Van Bergen, and Stevan Oostenbrug.

Culture Days will also include live artistic demonstrations and lessons, including an outdoor Plein Air Painting lesson hosted by the Fraser Valley Watermedia Society and Food Scrap Printmaking with Luke Pardy. The Reach Gallery will also be hosting its C3: Culture, Creativity & Community program on Wednesdays, aiming to connect seniors through the love of the arts.

The more dramatically inclined can get on stage with a theatre games event and an Acting 101 class provided by Gallery 7 Theatre. Other cultural events include artist talks, craft demonstrations, and a live outdoor Bhangra dance performance. Initiatives like this often use methods such as brochure printing and web pages to help make it easy to navigate the various activities on offer.

The City of Abbotsford will be hosting its 2025 Culture Day celebrations at various locations from September 19 to October 12.
