Black Press, which is the parent company for the Abbotsford News, was recently given a good reason to be proud when the publication was granted several prestigious international awards.
Abbynews.com, which is the online version of the publication, was awarded the third place spot in the Best Community Website category by the Local Media Association in its Best in Digital Media Awards. This was just one of six such accolades.
It took top spot in the Best Contest and Best Video Initiative categories. Further, the publication was granted second place in Best Local Community Initiative and also in Best Niche Site Produced by Local Media. Additionally, the paper received an honorable mention in the Best Use of Social Media group.
According to the News’ Andrew Franklin, Abbynews.com continues to maintain a high volume of readership, with over 100,000 visits in July 2014; this exceeds those for Black Press websites in larger markets such as Surrey, Victoria, and Kelowna. In fact, it is the most visited of the company’s sites.
The Local Media Association is an international group that represents over 2,200 local news publications from across North America. Each year, it recognizes the best in online news media through awards.
An honor like this can be a big boost for the writers of a publication, as it lets them know that their work is appreciated. A Print company can produce Banners to be displayed that will help to showcase their achievements.Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Banners
