The not-for-profit sector helps to fill gaps in a community’s social safety net, and these organizations will be the topic of conversation during an upcoming event planned by the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce.
This lunch-and-learn activity will feature a discussion of a recent study report prepared in partnership with the University of the Fraser Valley, which investigated the economic impact charities can have in an area. It will run for two hours, and seats at the function can be reserved by both members and non-members alike.
During the luncheon, Guest Speaker Karina Chow, the Associate Director of Development at Fraser Valley Region Canuck Place Children's Hospice, will be discussing the results of the “The Business of Doing Good” impact study. It has been explained that this contains annual data submitted by registered not-for-profit groups in Abbotsford, and the review will offer insights into its findings and why the sector is important.
A Chamber of Commerce provides a variety of community-specific support to its membership. Many organizations like this choose to give out promotional Pens and other swag to attendees during its events.
The 2021 November Luncheon - The Business of Doing Good will be hosted on November 24th at Sandman Hotel and Suites. It will start at 11:30 am, and measures for the prevention of Covid-19 will be followed.
