Women and girls from across the Fraser Valley were recently welcomed to Abbotsford’s airport for an event to encourage more females to take up flying for both work and pleasure.
This was the fourth year for the two-day experience. There is a rich tradition of women taking part in aviation in Canada, and over 10,000 people came out to participate in the activities, which included opportunities to explore potential careers in the aviation industry in the civilian and military sides.
They also learned about aircraft mechanics, aircraft control, aerospace engineering, and even what it takes to become an astronaut. A poster printing firm can create Signs and many other types of signage for such an event, and professionals can also Print Brochures containing more information that those who participate can take home with them.
During the event, which was titled ‘The Sky’s No Limit- Girls Can Fly too’, the public had a chance to ride in small aircraft such as planes and helicopters, and also to tour the Cascade Aerospace hangar.
They were likewise given an opportunity to learn more about the disparity between the numbers of women and men who choose an aviation-related career.
According to the organizers, under five per cent of commercial airline pilots, less than ten per cent of aerospace engineers, and under two per cent of aircraft maintenance engineers are women.Get a Free Quote for Signs Get a Free Quote for Brochures Get a Free Quote for Print
