Pop punk icons headed to Lethbridge

The Offspring and Simple Plan, two major pop-punk bands from decades past, are set to appear in Lethbridge this February as part of a Canada-wide tour.

The tour is headlined by the Offspring, the California-based band that helped to popularize the fusion of pop music and punk rock in the 1990s. They will play a collection of their music that spans across the band’s existence. The current line-up consists of founding member and vocalist Dexter Holland, long-time lead guitarist Noodles, recently added bassist Todd Morse and touring musicians Jonah Nimoy and John Freese. Special guests Simple Plan, the Canadian band that had major hits during the 2000s pop-punk boom, will be the primary support for the concert, and will perform a shorter set before the Offspring take the stage.

The Lethbridge show is part of the Let the Bad Times Roll tour, which will take the two groups across Canada. The national focus of the tour will see The Offspring visit a number of smaller Canadian cities that international groups often skip, including other Alberta locations like Red Deer and Grand Prairie. Concerts like this typically use tools like flyer printing and radio advertising to let fans know their favourites are coming to town.

The Lethbridge edition of The Offspring’s Let the Bad Times Roll tour is currently scheduled for February 22 at the ENMAX Centre.
