Close to 20,000 spectators were on hand to see the highly anticipated 20th Alberta International Airshow hosted at Lethbridge County Airport on Saturday July 25 and another 20,000 were on hand to see the event close on Sunday. The crowd at last weekend’s Airshow in Lethbridge was the largest seen in years and a huge success.
One of the reasons for this year’s high turnout and excellent organization are the number of volunteers who worked hard to prepare for this event: all 700 of them to be exact. On top of the hard work putting together the logistics of the annual event were the advertising efforts of various Print and digital media sources that helped promote the event. Printing services such as advertisements in local newspapers and the printing of ticket and show information were essential to drawing record number crowds at this year’s highly promoted event. Social media sites also helped spread word about the highly anticipated Airshow.
On hand to at the Airshow to celebrate the event’s 20th anniversary were the Lima Lima flying formation team from Illinois, the Canadian Snow Birds, the CF-18 Demonstration Team, FireCat, ever popular stuntman and daredevil Super Dave, the A-10 West Demonstration Team and others.
Also remembered during the Lethbridge event was the miraculous recovery of a CF-18 pilot who self ejected from a fighter jet moments before its crash into the airstrip at the Airshow exactly one year ago. Brian Bews, captain at the time, has made a full recovery in the past year.Get a Free Quote for Print
