Lethbridge to host special anniversary music fest

Music fans in Lethbridge will be treated to a first-time festival this September in the form of Thunder in the Bridge, featuring some of Canada’s biggest musical names.

The two-day event is designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ENMAX Centre, Lethbridge’s biggest venue for live music and other entertainment. The first night of the festival will be “Rock Day”, in association with local radio station 106.7 ROCK, headlined by Canadian rock icons Our Lady Peace and I Mother Earth. The second day will target country fans, supported by Wild 95.5, with singer-songwriter Walker Hayes and viral country performer Cooper Alan as the main attractions. The opening acts for both nights will be selected through a Showcase Contest for local artists.

In addition to music performances, festivalgoers will be able to sample food and drinks, take parts in giveaways and games, and see the work of local artists and artisans. Festivals such as this often use methods such as banner printing and radio marketing to raise awareness among local music lovers. Festival organizers have also expressed hopes of attracting fans from throughout Alberta, British Columbia, and Montana, with ENMAX Centre Generla Manager Jennifer Norsworthy saying:

“We know rock and country music fans love coming here to experience everything Lethbridge has to offer. Anytime we can attract folks from out of town with a great event like this, it means an economic boost for our local business community too.”

Thunder in the Bridge will take place on September 6 and 7 at the Sportsplex east parking lot in Lethbridge.
