Lethbridge’s BIPOC Foundation will be hosting its annual For the Arts Festival this fall, highlighting art and culture created by people in Black, Indigenous and People of Colour communities throughout Western Canada.
The For the Arts Festival will take place across two floors, as well as two stages for live performances, lectures, and presentations. It will also feature a marketplace for art and traditional handmade items, diverse food, and more. Marketplaces such as these provide an opportunity for small businesses and individual artisans to connect with new buyers, sometimes offering exclusive deals and Promotional Products. The festival will kick off on a Thursday night, with a full-day festival on the following two days, with the goal of being accessible to families and young people.
The festival will culminate in the Legacy Gala, presenting awards to recognize community leaders with the BIPOC Foundation Excellence Awards. The event is hosted by the BIPOC Foundation, which aims to promote diverse businesses and encourage networking within Lethbridge and surrounding areas. Performers and exhibitors will be selected from an open call for submissions, with the goal of empowering local creatives:
“Unleash your creative spirit at the For the Arts Festival! Whether you're a singer, dancer, painter, or any kind of artist, we want you to shine on our stage or exhibit your work in our gallery.”
The For the Arts Festival will take place at the Sandman Signature Lethbridge Lodge m November 8 to 10.
