College fundraising drive gets off to a great start

A fundraising intiative is being hailed a success after it was revealed that more than half of the $25 million goal, which was set recently by the Lethbridge College, has already been raised.

The campaign, called ‘The Possibilities are Endless’, is working to raise funds in support of numerous upgrades and renovations to the college.

Money will be allocated to allow improvements to be made to the trades and technology building, the Kodiak House Residence, and the library. Additional funds will also be used for student awards, further development of existing programs, and the development of new programs.

Coordinators of the fundraising effort could certainly utilize poster printing and banner printing to generate increased awareness around their efforts.

The college’s president, Paula Burns, has said she is ecstatic and finds the support shown so far to be truly thrilling. Local donors have truly stepped up, providing great sums of financial support to the cause.

The project received a boost when C.E.M. Heavy Equipment announced a gift of $100,000, which will go towards the Trades and Technology Renewal and Innovation Project (TTRIP). It will also be used to assist the Ed Valgardson Memorial Scholarships for parts technicians and heavy equipment apprentices.

The MZtis Education Foundation announced a gift of $250,000, which will be matched by the college to create a total of $500,000 towards the cause. Five families have also come together to make a generous contribution alongside an anonymous donor for a total endowment of $1,000,000.

Individuals or businesses interested in making a donation can find more information on the college’s official website.
