Well-known leader in color management to join Alberta college

A well-known leader in color management will be joining an Alberta college in the next month, so any Print company in Calgary may want to take note. Dr. Abhay Sharma will be joining the Centre for Excellence in Print at Edmonton’s NorQuest College beginning in January of 2011. His tenure at NorQuest College will be in the capacity of a visiting professor at the institute of higher learning.

Sharma’s position as a well-regarded leader in the area of color management is a contributing factor for his being named to the post of visiting professor at the Centre for Excellence in Print at NorQuest College. Moreover, his appointment to the job has the support of both the NSERC Regional Opportunities Fund as well as the Western Economic Diversification. As part of his stint as visiting professor at NorQuest College, Sharma will also be partaking in the future Colour Management Essentials: Proof to Press Workshop. This workshop will be taking place at the Centre for Excellence in Print at NorQuest College in February of 2011.

Sharma is currently serving as the associate professor at Western Michigan University’s Department of Paper Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Imaging. He has held this post for a long time - from 2001 to the present day. His education consists of a Bachelor of Science that he obtained at the University of Westminster in London, in 1987. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physics at King’s College at the University of London in 1991.
