The Country Club of the Hamptons sale finalized

One of Calgary’s premier private golf and country clubs has been passed over to new owners. Ron and Barry Ehlert, principals in the Windmill golf group, assumed ownership of The Country Club of the Hamptons in February with no price being mentioned.

The new owners are significant players in the Calgary golf scene. As the owners and management of several other courses in the area, including Silverwing Links, Boulder Creek GC, and Elbow Springs GC, they bring a high level of experience with them. The Ehlert’s are also working with Stephen Ames and Johnny Miller on the development of the Copithorne Club, which is to be located west of the city in Rockyview County.

The Country Club of the Hamptons is to be rebranded as ‘The Hamptons Golf Club’ and will be operated as a ‘member-centric’ facility with guests and event organizers still having the opportunity to utilize the course and its facilities.

Utilization of a variety of printing services will no doubt be key in the marketing strategies for the group as they work to communicate new offerings and services to existing members as well as seeking to reach potential new custom.

Fred Couples, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Lee Trevino are among the names of top level pro golfers who have previously tee’d off and walked the fairways of The Hamptons Golf Club as it will now be known. The facility has been recognized in the past as one of the top 100 courses in Canada by SCOREGolf Magazine and has hosted numerous high profile events.
