The Calgary International Blues Festival will take place at Shaw Millenium Park from July 30 to August 5. A four-day pass costs $139, while one-day passes cost $50.
There will be a festival kickoff and volunteer appreciation party on July 30 at the Blues Can, featuring the Hickey's and Blueswalk. The festival then kicks into full gear beginning on August 2 with musical performances from such bands and performers as David Wilcox, the Shirley Jackson Band, the Gunn Blues Band, and the Zachary Richard Trio. The festival will also feature food concessions, an Arts Market, and a records tent selling the music of those appearing at the festival. The Arts Market will have handmade and one-of-a-kind art for sale. In addition, there will be community information booths from various local organizations and festival merchandise such as T-Shirts and caps for sale.
Rental of vendor space is available for $200 for community groups, $400 for the Arts Market, and $800 for food concessions. No doubt vendors will be working with Calgary printing companies to help get ready for the festival. Services such as brochure printing, poster printing, and banner printing will help get a booth ready for the festival and community booths will want to provide information to the public about the various organizations in the Calgary area in the form of Brochures or Booklets.
There is nothing better than listening to some great music on a warm, summer evening and the Calgary International Blues Festival offers that and much more.
