Calgary artists who would like to find out how they can earn money from their talents will soon get the chance to do so at an upcoming workshop.
Margaret Holland, an experienced art educator and artist, will be sharing her knowledge during “The Business of Selling Your Art” class that will welcome Calgary creatives. It will explore the business and marketing side of the equation, and it is being presented thanks to support from Parkdale Nifty Fifties.
The three-hour session will introduce the practice of selling art from the ground floor up. The attendees will find out how they can build their own personal portfolio and inventory record, and tips for presenting this to potential customers will be shared. Everyone will receive advice related to pricing, and the value of creating an artist statement and biography will be discussed as well.
Like many other types of businesses, an artist who decides to sell their works may find the services of local Print shops to be quite helpful. They can provide everything from Business Cards to inventory records and pricing sheets, and these can all be custom designed to meet their specific need and budget.
The Business of Selling Your Art workshop will take place on September 9th. It will run from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at 3512 5 Avenue Northwest.
