For a Calgary postal worker, March was a month she will always remember.
Alana Hall was a new letter carrier for Canada Post, just three weeks into her job. She stepped from her vehicle in Hamptons on a bitterly cold day and slipped and fell. She knew right away that she had been hurt very badly.
She called out for help, but the streets seemed deserted. As she lay there thinking no one would ever hear her and fearing that she would lose her leg, she kept up trying to attract attention.
Fortunately for Hall, three roofers were working in the cold when they heard her cries. Once they spotted her, they wasted no time in rushing to help.
They saw her mangled leg and called for an ambulance. The helpful trio even gathered the mail up that she had dropped.
Once she reached the hospital, Hall found out her leg had sustained a couple of serious breaks and would require surgery. It was a success and she is now on the road to recovery.
Once she was up and about, Hall visited the men who had come to her aid with a thank you and a gift card to a local coffee shop so they can keep warm in the cold.
