Calgary kids to craft holiday cookies

Besides being a lot of fun, working in the kitchen can be an educational experience for kids, and a Calgary workshop will soon be teaching a group of youths how to bake some tasty holiday treats.

The Cookbook Co. will be wrapping up November with a workshop that will introduce several baking techniques to kids aged eight and up. It will be a hands-on project, and it will be led by culinary instructor and chef Matthew Altizer.

The participants will be preparing a variety of holiday cookies and other sweets, and the registration fee is $65 each. The students will be taught an assortment of techniques they can then use to bake at home. Their creations may then be included in family celebrations and cookie exchanges, or they can be given as homemade gifts.

By making learning fun, a workshop like this can be a really enjoyable experience for those who take part. Stationery printers will be able to prepare cards printed with the recipes taught at such an event, and these can be laminated so they will be safe from spills and will last for a long time.

The Kids' Christmas Baking session will be on offer to Calgary kids on November 20th. It will start at 10:00 am, and the venue is located at 722 11 Avenue Southwest.
