Calgary residents who want to discover some of the latest trends in fibre arts, as well as more traditional ones can do so at this year’s Calgary Spring Fibre Festival.
This two-day celebration of naturally sourced fibres, will see millers, dyers and others who create and work with these materials on hand to discuss their products with the public. Everything from the original, raw fibres to completed projects will be on display, and many of them will be on offer for purchase.
All ages are welcome to attend the function, and it can be a fun way to introduce kids to knitting, weaving, crocheting and even macrame. Felting will also be included, and the event goers can sit in on a workshop or demonstration so that they can learn some new techniques to try at home for themselves.
