Airdrie workshop series planned for grandparents
Airdrie grandparents who help in raising their grandkids will be able to attend a two-session series that will offer tips, assistance and other support.
Community Links, which is located at 211 125 Main Street in Airdrie, will be running its “Parenting Your Grandchild” workshop pair, and there's no cost to participate. The attendees will not only be able to gather a lot of information that may be useful to them, they will also meet others in the same boat.
Organizers of the workshops noted that they can be helpful whether a grandparent has full custody and financial responsibility for a child, is helping to raise their grandchildren in their home, or provides childcare while the parents are at work. Resources that can aid in the financial side of the situation as well as other sources of support will be shared, and everyone who feels this may be beneficial to them is encouraged to register.
Information sessions give community-based organizations a way to connect with and support the people they serve. Print shops will be able to lend a hand by preparing informational materials to distribute, and can use their brochure printing techniques to do so.
The Parenting Your Grandchild series will begin on March 3rd, and the second session will be held on March 10th. Both start at 6:00 pm, and the deadline to register is February 24th.
