The Empty Bowls Project movement gives artisans, chefs and the general public an opportunity to come together to address hunger in communities at the grass roots level, and one of these events will soon be held in Airdrie.
The Airdrie Food Bank will be the recipient of the funds raised through the Empty Bowls fundraiser that will take place near the end of September. Many community members have pulled together to bring the event to the public, and there will be lots to see and do.
The festivities will feature a free soup lunch prepared by local chefs and restaurants, and there will be handmade pottery bowls available for purchase. There will be activities for the kids too, including face painting and games, and a silent auction will help to raise even more funds. All of the monies collected will be donated to the Airdrie Food Bank.
Not for profit groups often reach out to their local business community, seeking sponsorships, donations of Corporate Gifts in kind and other support. A printer can craft professional Letterheads to use for donation requests.
Airdrie residents who would like to show some love to their neighbours in need are invited to attend the Empty Bowls fundraiser, which will be on offer on Saturday, September 26th. Its will take place from 10:30 am until 2:30 pm.
