Perth gears up for high-velocity SailGP debut

Sailing enthusiasts can look forward to the upcoming debut of the Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix, with the opening round of the 2026 Rolex SailGP Championship getting ready to set sail. Positioned to kick off an 11-month global circuit, Perth’s close-to-shore racing marks SailGP’s first visit to the city for a tour that is usually an international event.

Organisers are promising spectators a mix of both elite sailing and on-shore live entertainment for the event. National teams are expected to be racing identical 50-foot foiling catamarans that can exceed 100 km/h as they slice through the Indian Ocean. More than 15,000 fans are expected to attend during the two-day event, with Waterfront Grandstand seating, allowing fans to be feet away from the high speed action.

The potential tourism and economic impact of the event is expected to be very positive for Western Australia. A significant influx of interstate and international visitors are anticipated to attend, combined with a global broadcast attention that should place Perth and Fremantle in the spotlight.

For big events such as these, organisers and promoters can use poster printing, with street Posters used in and around Fremantle and Perth CBD for local saturation and event countdown visibility.

The Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix will be launching at Bathers Beach, Fremantle, on 17–18 January 2026, from 11.30am to 5.00 pm and is expected to be an exciting racing event for SailGP. .
