Unique crafts and gifts available at popular market near West Melbourne

The much-loved Footscray Community Arts Makers’ Market will be returning this September.

The spring market will feature beautiful handmade works, lovingly crafted by locals. There will be stalls for visitors to explore, and keen shoppers may be able to collect vendors’ Business Cards as they browse the varied goods on offer. There will be food and beverages available to purchase at the Myrtle Café, and various art exhibitions will also be on display during the day. Market organisers may use banner printing to assist visitors with directions around the exhibitions and stalls. The market is to be held in the grounds of Footscray Community Arts, giving guests the opportunity to picnic on the lawns beside the Maribyrnong River and gaze out over West Melbourne.

Footscray Community Arts began in 1974, receiving government funding to assist disadvantaged communities to access arts programs and foster cultural development. It aims to share stories from cultures all over Australia within the local community, through using contemporary arts. As well as the Makers’ Market, the organisation also runs children’s workshops, professional development for teachers and artist-in-resident programs. The venue can also be hired out to host functions and conferences.

The Makers’ Market will take place on Saturday 16th September, at Footscray Community Arts, 45 Moreland Street, Footscray. It will run from 9am until 3pm, and entry is free of charge.
