Eastern Press won four gold medals making the company the biggest winner of the awards ceremony and Picpress dominated the digital photobook-printing category.

The Heidelberg Award for Excellence in Craft was won by Bambra Press for the ‘Prime minister’s Olympic Dinner Invite’ and a thrilling dead heat was declared for the Media Super Award between Print Impressions and Adams Print.
The ceremony was deemed a great success, hosted by Emma Freedman and horse racing commentator Jack Styring with an attendance of over three hundred print company professionals. Judges awarded gold medals across 26 categories to 17 different companies with offices all over Melbourne from Thornbury to Springvale.
Trevor Hone, chairman of PICA Victoria, said of the awards:
“Rod Urquhart, the chairman of judges, said the quality was as high as ever and that there were a few frontrunners for the National Print awards among the entries.”
Victorian winners will be noting with interest in which companies do well in the upcoming New South Wales PICA Awards in a field of already strong contenders for a National Award.
