Fundraiser to support cats in Thornbury

Cat lovers in the area of Thornbury can soon come together to help raise funds for an enrichment experience for cats that require extra support.

Supported by The Cat Protection Society of Victoria (CPSV), and to mark International Cat Day on 8 August, an evening of food, games and trivia has been arranged for feline fans to mingle and enjoy activities while helping to provide financial support.

CPSV has been in existence for 75 years, helping to find homes for cats in need, offer sanctuary and provide a veterinary clinic at affordable prices. As a not-for profit-organisation, it relies entirely on donations, memberships and bequests.

Money raised will go towards a Nurture and Enrichment Hub where cats in need can experience a calm and nurturing environment to hopefully get them adoption ready.

As well as games, there will be a silent auction on the evening. The Original Bingo and Trivia Company will be hosting a general knowledge quiz that may include cat-based questions.

Events including quizzes sometimes use local printing services to produce professional question papers for distribution.

The Purr-suit of Knowledge, an International Cat Day Fundraiser, will be taking place on Friday, 7 August, from 6.30 pm until 11 pm at The Greenhouse, 520 High Street, Thornbury. A ticket costs $70, which will include canapes and nibbles, a welcome drink and entry to a door prize.
