Thornbury to welcome South African artist

An acclaimed singer-songwriter from South Africa is set to perform at a concert in Thornbury this year.

Music lovers in Thornbury who enjoy international artists will soon have the privilege of seeing Alice Phoebe Lou on stage. For one night only in May, Lou will be playing live at a local venue, introducing her latest songs to her fans in the suburb.

The set will likely include hits from her other successful albums that include “Orbit”, “Child’s Play” and “Paper Castles”, among others.

Born in South Africa, the singer-songwriter now lives in Berlin, Germany, but will be visiting Australia for an autumn tour. Her new album, entitled “Shelter”, is her fifth studio recording to date, and seeks to inspire young people to take an unconventional approach to life.

Solo artists and bands recording albums often work with talented Graphic Design Services to set artwork and typography for their releases.

The child of two documentary filmmakers, Lou took guitar and piano lessons growing up. At age 14, she began taking photos at trance music concerts, and was occasionally paid for them. She later worked as a street performer to earn money before beginning her recording career.

Alice Phoebe Lou will now be live on stage at The Croxton Bandroom on Wednesday, May 29. The events venue is situated at 607 High Street in Thornbury.
