What's Happening in Thornbury, VIC…

Garlic bread festival set to return to Thornbury

Thornbury locals are breaking out the breath mints in anticipation of the sixth annual Garlic Festival, set to return to the suburb during August.

The festival will honour the crispy-baked-from-the-oven staple and everything it involves: butter, bread, and, of course, garlic.

Attendees can sample a number of garlic-bread options from many food-truck vendors. Some vendors on offer will be Chef Calamari, Wylee Garlic and Nuggies.

There will be loaded garlic bread, Mexican garlic bread and garlic and cheese bread. For the brave, there's garlic bread burgers and garlic bread cheesesteaks.

For the traditionalists, there will be the well-loved "original" garlic bread, best enjoyed in foil.

There will be drinks inspired by garlic bread. Garlic bread-themed treats and desserts will also be available to try.

Besides a free giveaway of garlic bread, the celebrations will also feature competitions and games. There will even be a garlic bread eating relay.

Flyer printing is a popular advertising choice for event organisers. Modern and attractive flyers get the word around about events and attract a large audience from the local community.

The Garlic Bread Festival will take place on Saturday, 30 August. The venue will be Welcome to Thornbury, which can be found at 520 High Street in Northcote. It will begin at noon and run until 8 pm. There is no admission fee; however, it is advisable to book a table beforehand. To book, those interested can visit the Welcome to Thornbury website.
