Keen photographers are being encouraged to get snapping for this year’s Focus on Frankston competition.
There are six categories this year. Five offer the chance for entrants to photograph one of their favourite areas of Frankston, and the people that live here. These sections are Coastal Experiences, Love the Arts, Food and Fashion, The Great Outdoors, and Celebrations.
The sixth category is designed to celebrate how Frankston has changed through the years. The Now and Then section challenges residents to look through their old photos of Frankston, and then take the same picture now.
Last year, nearly 800 images and 15 videos were entered into the competition. A picture of children playing in front of Seaford pier was among the prize-winning photographic entries, so current Seaford residents might like to challenge themselves to top that image this year.
There is more than $5000 in cash prizes on offer to the winners, as well as other prizes.
Some of the winning images may also be used by printing companies to help create promotional material, like the Frankston Pictorial book that was produced last year.
Videographers can also take part by creating a short film that highlights what Frankston has to offer, and includes the words Enjoy Every Moment.
Entries open at the beginning of November. For more information, visit the Focus on Frankston Facebook page.
