Singing talent sought in Seaford

Budding singers from Seaford have the chance to show off their talents at this year’s Voice of Frankston competition.

The contest was officially launched earlier this month, and entries are now open until the end of August.

This is the second year the competition has been held and this year there are four categories. For younger residents, there are two categories – one for youngsters up to 12 years old and one anyone aged between 13 and 22. Adults can enter the 23 to 50 section, or compete in the seniors’ category for people aged at least 50.

The winners from each category will have the chance to take part in a professional recording session, as well as filming a video clip for their chosen song. An interview will Pearl Magazine and a CD cover photography session are also included, while all finalists will receive a voucher for music lessons from local music school Funkey Music.

The best singers will be asked to perform at local events, and could possibly see their names on advertising such as poster printing around Frankston.

Finalists will be notified at the end of August, and the semi-final and final will be held live at the Frankston Arts Centre in September.

To enter, complete the entry form and upload a video on the Funkey Music website. Entries close on Tuesday, August 25th.
