Karrum Karrum swamp in Seaford, Victoria, was originally an important source of food for Aboriginal people of the Bunurong tribe. When new settlers arrived in the early 1900s, all but the low lying wetland areas were drained to allow farming to take place. Residential development followed as people recognised the areas many features, including affordability, a unique ecosystem, and a beach close by. The suburb is part of the City of Frankston and is 36km from Melbourne’s Central Business District (CBD). Poster printing in Seaford is one of the ways that the fascinating ecology of the area is displayed. The team here at Minuteman Press offers a wide range of other printing options as well, including Postcards and Brochures.
Preservation of the area became an important issue for the City of Frankston and, following recommendations in a 1985 report, the Seaford Swamp was given a major make-over. This involved substantial tree plantings, the creation of several lagoons and upgrades to public facilities. This provided new areas of interest to be snapped by photographers for use on postcard and poster printing in Seaford.
