New tenants wanted for Seaford footy venue

The Seaford site used by the St Kilda Football Club has now become vacant due to the club relocating to Moorabbin.

The Linden House site has now been tendered out to business for lease via an expression of interest document drawn up by Frankston local council.

With the football club still maintaining its leasehold over the venue until 2059, any decisions on the site’s use, will be by agreement between both the club and Frankston Council. Michael O’Reilly, Frankston mayor, further said that St Kilda FC are keen to support the council in negotiating with prospective tenants.

The site has been renamed, The Frankston Health and Wellbeing Hub. O’Reilly said it was a terrific opportunity for community organisations to make use of the facilities, particularly those businesses involved in sport or community health programmes. Such programmes can be advertised with Promotional Products and quality signage.

The new “hub” facilities includes top class sporting amenities with an AFL grade oval, a water therapy pool, modern theatre with audio visual amenities, and designated meeting areas.

Until a new tenant is found for the Linden House venue, the Seaford Football Club will be using the facilities to play their games, while their own home grounds are being revamped.

O’Reilly would ideally like to see the new Hub as being at the heart of the community and has praised the venue as being “outstanding”.
