New bus service in Seaford to commence

A new bus service which connects Seaford to Cranbourne will be rolled out later this year.

The daily service will depart from Seaford Station and end at Cranbourne Train Station, with buses running every 40 minutes throughout the day and every 60 minutes in the evenings and weekends.

The bus route will run as the 760 service and will include 16 stops. The proposed route will begin at Seaford Station via Ballarto, Hall, McCormicks and continue into Cranbourne-Frankston Road, terminating at Cranbourne station. Key stops will be Carrum Downs Regional Shopping Centre, Carrum Downs Plaza and Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre.

Local MP for Carrum, Sonya Kilkenny, said she wanted to thank the community for pushing for the new bus service. She also said that the new service is important for residents as it gives people wider access to shopping and leisure centres as well as employment opportunities.

The service will connect with Seaford trains and also provide a connection to the Frankston and Cranbourne train lines as well as the Cranbourne bus service. New services can be made known to the community through flyer printing and online promotion.

New bus stops have needed to be built, with Public Transport Victoria (PTV) making every effort to avoid inconvenience to home or business owners. Affected businesses may give feedback to PTV.

The service is due to begin operating on June 16th.
