Children are in for a fun holiday season, with hundreds of sand sculptures lining the Frankston Waterfront for the next four months.
The sculptures are made by Australian and international builders and, this year, the theme is Friends, Foes and Super Heroes.
The sand models will include characters from Disney Pixar movies such as Toy Story and Cars, as well as iconic faces like Mickey Mouse.
Older children will enjoy spotting their favourites from Star Wars and Marvel superheroes, including detailed depictions of Jabba the Hutt and Darth Vader, as well as Spiderman and The Incredible Hulk.
Visitors should look out for poster printing advertising the event that also highlights the extra activities for children, which includes sand art, a Lego play zone, and a giant sand pit.
Seaford residents thinking about paying a visit are encouraged to use public transport to get to the Waterfront, with the show just a short walk from Frankston train station and near several major bus routes.
The show started on Boxing Day and is set to run until Sunday, April 26th. The event is open every day, but some activities only run at weekends and on public holidays. Payments must be made in cash on the day, or tickets can be bought in advance from the Frankston Visitor Information Centre.
