Seaford businesses, community groups and residents will be taking part in the 2016 Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds for the Cancer Council.
According to a Cancer Council Australia CEO Professor Sanchia Aranda, a cancer diagnosis will be given to one in every two Australians by the time they reach 85.
She said raising funds for the Cancer Council while sharing delicious food and a cup of tea with friends and colleagues is a fun and simple activity, which has been embraced by people around the country.
While May 26 is the official date of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, she said, events are held throughout May and June to suit independent sponsors’ Calendars.
Professor Aranda said the event, which has been a major fundraiser of the Cancer Council for 23 years, is a way to bring together family, colleagues, and members of the community to help a gcause.
Events in Seaford will include Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, plus Magickal Wares Expo on May 21. The fundraiser will be part of a vintage inspired Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, while entry is free to the Expo.
