Christmas festival includes first look at Sand Sculpture exhibition

Seaford residents will have an opportunity to kick up their heels at Frankston Waterfront as part of Santa’s Sand Land festival.

The festival is a dual celebration to be shared with the 11th Annual Sand Sculpting Australia Exhibition.

A city of Frankston spokesman said the theme of the 2016/17 Exhibition is `Lands of Imagination’, and local visitors will be the first from throughout Melbourne to see this year’s exhibition in its entirety.

He said In excess of 3,500 tonnes of clean sand will be totally transformed into gigantic sculptures including towering giants, floating cities, a gingerbread village, dinosaurs, a wonderland, and interspace adventures.

The spokesman added Santa’s eight-day Sand Land Christmas Festival, to be held inside the Sand Sculpting Australia venue from December 16 to 23, will provide something for every member of the family, with the all-inclusive price for tickets incorporating a host of Christmas-themed activities.

In addition to viewing the Lands of Imagination themed sand sculptures, event Brochures list a wide range of activities featuring live Christmas performances by The Kazoos, Christmas crafts, balloon artist and a live magic show, while children will also be able to meet Santa and receive a gift.

Bookings are essential to the various festival sessions, which include 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm, and special Twilight sessions from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm on December 16, 17, 22 and 23.
