Top classical guitar players to come to Hawthorn
Returning to their hometown, Melbourne brothers Slava and Leonard Grigoryan will bring their latest album to life in this one-night-only performance.
The show will feature a mix of music from their new album, as well as their back catalogue that has solidified them as some of Australia’s finest classical guitarists.
Touring internationally since 2003, the Grigoryan brothers have developed a worldwide reputation as performers. Spanning genres such as classical, jazz and contemporary, the pair have released 13 albums to date and won 4 ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) awards from a total 24 nominations.
Their newest album, Amistad, released in 2024, celebrates their connections with international composing talent though both original songs gifted to the brothers, and their own interpretation of existing songs. The album features compositions from musicians such as Ralph Towner, Leo Brouwer, Australian pianists Luke Howard and Nat Bartsch, and Sting's guitarist Dominic Miller, among others.
Touring music acts like this one often sell merchandise at their show. These promotional products may celebrate newly released projects or the tour itself, and typically feature the name and logo design of the group or album, or the performance dates of a tour.
The Grigoryan brothers will perform at the Hawthorn Arts Centre next Friday, August 1, with the two-hour show scheduled to start at 7:30 pm.
