A cinema in Hawthorn is hosting a weekday comedy event this autumn featuring both new and established acts.
Hawthorn residents looking for laughs in the new year can come down to a dedicated comedy night taking place in the suburb. Dubbed “Lido Comedy Tuesday” the evening event features live stand-up comedians, and admission is only $10 to attend.
The recurring event is billed by its organisers, Lido Comedy, as Melbourne’s favourite night for comedy. It features a weekly rotation of comedians that include fresh faces on the stand-up scene and legends from the world of comedy alike to create an evening full of laughter.
Comedians often look to business card printing services to access professional contact cards they can hand out to venues and secure a spot in their line-ups of regular acts.
The event has welcomed a wealth of comics over the years including Lizzy Hoo, Reuben Solo, Ray O'Leary, Dilruk Jayasinha, Hannah Gadsby, Nazeem Hussein, Claire Hooper, Luke Kidgell and Dave Thornton to name but a few.
Melbourne's favourite comedy night at Hawthorn's Lido Comedy Tuesday will now be held on March 3 in the Jazz Room at Lido Cinemas. The show will start at 7.30 pm and the cinema is situated at 675 Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn just a brief walk from Glenferrie Station.
Drinks and snacks are available from the bar.
