An Australian not-for-profit is holding a footrace event in Hawthorn to support, remember and celebrate cancer patients and their carers while raising much-needed money.
The Cancer Council will present an event called “Relay For Life” at a school in Hawthorn next year. The race day is designed to provide a moving and fun experience while raising critical funds for the non-profit’s support, prevention and research services.
Charities and not-for-profit organisations often work with reliable printing services that can produce a wide range of materials for their campaigns to raise awareness among the public.
Relay for Life aims to provide local people with an opportunity to recognise the cancer survivors within their community. It also honours lost loved ones and pays tribute to those who have cared for them. The race also works to raise funds in the hope of saving more lives and is attended by thousands of charitable individuals across Australia each year in different states across the country.
Those in Hawthorn wishing to participate can either join an existing team or start one of their own and begin gaining sponsors to support their efforts.
The Relay for Life event will run at Auburn High School on Saturday, March 28. The school is located at 26 Burgess Street in Hawthorn, and the event starts at 10 am.
