Hawthorn venue to get introspective through art

Autism Spectrum Australia will be showcasing a range of paintings, drawings and text-based work throughout the Town Hall Gallery in Hawthorn over the coming months.

‘The Future is Interest-spective’ display will aim to celebrate the diverse experiences, perspectives and voices across the Autistic community of Australia. The exhibition is hopeful in creating a “positive space” for attendees to connect with, and better understand, the Autistic artists, and reflects a community that is co-created by and inclusive of people with neurodivergence.

Autism Spectrum Australia (ASPECT) is the biggest not-for-profit autism specific service in Australia, and provides one of the largest specialised school programs in the world. Their mission is to:
"Understand, engage and celebrate the strengths, interests and aspirations of people on the autism spectrum."

The Town Hall Gallery can be found on Burwood Road in Hawthorn, and is open Monday through Saturday and closed on public holidays. The venue is equipped with quiet spaces, accessible car parking and an area for assistance animals to rest.

The Future is Interest-spective exhibition will run from Wednesday, 13 March until Saturday, 27 of April 2024.
