Something for everyone at new-look community festival

The City of Whittlesea Public Gardens is set to host the annual community festival.

Music, food, culture and much more will provide a festive atmosphere for all attendees from surrounding suburbs including nearby Epping, Victoria.

Mayor Lawrie Cox said the festival will be given a new look, with the many events organised to celebrate the new and the old. He added:

“It is our diversity, flavours and sounds that make the City of Whittlesea so special.”

The many activities, he said, will ensure something for all ages and he urged all residents to take up the opportunity to join in the fun, saying:

"We will be celebrating our oldest culture with the Whittlesea Reconciliation Group program with entertainment, information and I hope a lot more understanding.”

Food stalls and entertainment, which are often among popular drawcards featured on brochure and flyer printing for such events, will illustrate the diversity and multicultural flavour of the City of Whittlesea community.

Mayor Cox said the festival was among the city’s biggest community events and gave everyone a chance to gather up the family and enjoy a fun day out.

Transport via a free shuttle bus to the festival, to be held on March 17 from 11am to 5pm at the City of Whittlesea Public Gardens in Lalor’s Barry Road, will be available from Pacific Epping Plaza and the Thomastown Train Station.
