The installation of a series of Signs along the 12km shared path has been undertaken to make the journey simple and even more enjoyable, according to Mayor Lawrie Cox.
Three types of Signs were prepared by printing services for the route. Trail Identity Signs will help raise awareness and promote the trail at major road crossings. Directional Signs will promote nearby amenities, destinations and connections by following signed routes and Map-based Signs will provide users with route identification as well as directions to the wider area.
Mayor Cox said it was hoped the added signage would encourage people to explore the area, adding:
“The maps include information about suggested walking routes, the location of public toilets, seats and water fountains, as well as preferred road crossing points. They also include the on and off road cycling routes connecting to and from the trail and the directional Signs include distances and walking times in minutes to help you plan your walk, run or bike ride.”
In addition, he said, those using the trail can take advantage of the Avenza PDF Maps free smartphone app to download the new map displayed on the sign, which has been formatted for this purpose. Smartphone users just need to scan a QR code on the sign.Get a Free Quote for Signs
