Work on the $25 million transformation commenced in July 2018 and is now progressing well, according to Mayor Lawrie Cox who said the coming months will reveal the construction of a new building, adding:
“Internal concrete slabs and steel frames for the gym expansion are complete and the new warm water pool and the concrete works for the 25-metre pool are complete.”
She said the new leisure and learn to swim pools have been dug and are set for concreting while work on the roof covering new extensions is are also nearing an end.
The Mayor added that the work at Mill Park Leisure Centre will result in the establishment of a modern fitness and aquatic hub. Three new pools will incorporate one warm water pool that features ramp access, another with water play areas for leisure and a third for swimming lessons.
Installations will also include a new sauna and larger spa, as well as a new reception, front foyer, café, retail area, barbecue and family play areas Once completed, new projects such as this are often showcased to the local community using flyer printing services.
The project is expected to be complete by 2020.
