Kids aged two to five in Croydon are being invited to explore the world of art and participate in a hands-on workshop at the Heide Museum of Modern Art.
Offering a unique guided tour for kids and their carers, the morning’s event will also culminate in an opportunity for the region’s budding young artists to try their own hand at creating a masterpiece.
Founded in 1934, the Heide Museum of Modern Art began as the home of John and Sunday Reed, and it has grown over the years to become one of Australia’s most beloved cultural institutions. Having curated over 300 solo, group and thematic exhibitions since becoming a public gallery in 1981, the gallery is open to the public all year round. Educational programmes such as this can benefit from poster printing to help advertise key details to members of a community.
This latest Mini-Artists programme is designed to introduce a new generation to the vibrant world of art. In addition to being shown around the museum’s current collections and participating in a facilitated arts workshop, pre-schoolers and their carers will also be treated to a special morning tea from the museum’s Heide Café.
The Heide Mini-Artists event is scheduled to run on Wednesday, November 17 at the Heide Museum of Modern Art, from 10 am to 11:30 am. Bookings are available from the museum’s website.
