Fans in the Croydon area who enjoy an evening of nostalgia can book tickets to see a band playing retro hits in August.
The Melbourne-based Retro Stars invoke the sounds of the Swinging Sixties with a setlist that includes popular hits from The Beatles, The Kinks, Elvis and Creedence Clearwater Revival, among others.
With a combined wealth of experience, the members of the tribute band are lifelong fans of the 1960s. They include David Gillard on lead vocals and guitar, Lee Dryden on vocals and drums and Rod Allsopp on vocals and bass guitar. Dressed in the fashion of the day, the band members play ‘60s style drums, amplifiers and guitars to help generate an authentic sound. The audience on the night will be encouraged to dance and sing along to hits, which might include Oh, Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison, (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones and Mr Tambourine Man by The Byrds.
