Those new to drawing and living in or near Croydon can sign up for a short session to learn to use watercolour pencils with skill.
The artist Lynette Orzlowski will be teaching attendees how to use watercolour pencils, to include techniques such as blending, layering, washing and making use of texture. Watercolour pencils can be used as a traditional coloured pencil, with the option of adding water later and sometimes an artist will dip the tip of the pencil in water before drawing. All art created can then be taken home.
Orzlowski is a wildlife artist and is based in Melbourne. With no formal training, she draws on her connection to the land to marry her lifelong passions for both nature and art. Her work has been exhibited in group and solo spaces, both at home and internationally. Recently, she has had a passion for drawing equine subjects, which feeds into her skill at drawing unicorns.
Workshops are sometimes a space in which Promotional Products can be displayed, if they have particular relevance to a teacher.
Introduction to watercolour pencils is taking place on Saturday 9th May, from 10am until midday, at Wyreena Community Arts Centre, 13-23 Hull Road, Croydon 3136. The event is suitable for beginners aged 18 and over and costs $40, to include all materials.
