Croydon to welcome songwriting duo

Residents in and around the Croydon area will soon be able to enjoy an evening of classic, iconic popular music, as well as some original songs.

The Songwriters Duo consists of Jeff Jenkins and David Johnston. During the evening, they will be covering harmonious classics by the likes of Paul Simon, Springsteen, Dylan and McLean, adding stories about the songs to enhance the nostalgic experience. Songs covered may include hits such as Born in the USA, Graceland and American Pie and other well-known pieces that have delighted throughout the generations. Jenkins will also be playing a selection of his original music.

Jenkins is also a music journalist, writing prominently for Stack Magazine and The Music, as well as presenting The Songwriters Show. He also fronts a band called Jeff Jenkins and The Heartstarters, where the drums are played by David Johnston. Historically, the pair has played in The Dukes of Despair and The Late Starters; they have been musicians together for over twenty years.

The use of flyer printing and their subsequent distribution is one way in which events can be advertised in local venues.

Songwriters Duo, featuring Jeff Jenkins and David Johnston, is appearing on Friday 26th June, from 8.30pm until 11pm at The Concert Lounge, Croydon Bowling Club, corner of Mount Dandenong Road and Civic Square in Croydon. A ticket costs $25.
