There are just a couple of weeks left for community groups or local organisations to register their interest in taking part in this year’s Maroondah Festival.
The popular event, held annually in Croydon, usually attracts around 20,000 residents and visitors from around Melbourne's east area.
It is a chance for groups to promote their activities and services, and also serves as a potential fundraising opportunity. Maroondah City Council is now accepting expressions of interest from any organisations that would like to have a stand at the festival, run an activity or stage a performance.
The event includes a cultural area, children’s section and fitness arena, as well as food stalls and performances.
Groups are also encouraged to apply for funding through the Maroondah Festival Interactive Grants Program, which offers up to $500 to community groups that want to run an activity visitors can take part in, such as a craft workshop or sports session.
Part of the funding could be used to promote the group's event through banner printing or flyer printing. Applications for grants are open until Friday, August 29th.
The festival will be held on Sunday, November 8th from 10am to 4pm at Town Park in Croydon. Expressions of interest must be submitted by Monday, June 29th. More information can be found on the Maroondah council website or by contacting the festival organising team.
