Croydon residents to enjoy Maroondah Festival

Planning is underway for the 2020 Maroondah Festival, and all local community groups, businesses and residents are encouraged to join the Maroondah City Council in creating a fun day out for all the community.

The Maroondah Festival – once known as the Croydon Festival – attracts around 25,000 people each year, and is one of the largest community festivals in Melbourne. It is a key event on Melbourne’s cultural calendar, and this year it will take place on Sunday, November 8 from 10am until 4pm.

The main stage will once again host live music, with past acts including Hunters and Collectors, Kate Ceberano, Paul Kelly and Vanessa Amorosi. Alongside the main stage will be a dedicated space for youth, expos focusing on wellbeing, health and community, an eco-village and a dedicated area for children’s entertainment. Plenty of market stalls and food outlets will also be present, and roving entertainers will keep the crowds amused.

Festivals and other cultural events often use poster printing to capture people's attention and attract visitors to the event.

While in the past, the festival has occurred in different locations spanning over a large area, activities for the 2020 event will all be taking place at the Town Park on Norton Road, Croydon.

Residents interested in being involved in the festival or seeking further information are encouraged to contact the festival’s headquarters in the Croydon Civic Service Centre. More information is available on the Maroondah City Council's website.
