An event celebrating exotic food and flavours will be held at one of Melbourne’s most famous landmarks.
Food fanatics in Croydon and other Melbourne satellites will rejoice to hear that a major food event is arriving in the city this spring. For one Sunday in October only, sheds C and D at the Queen Victoria Market in the heart of the capital will be transformed into a cultural hub as the annual Indian Festival makes a welcome return.
Organisers of national events often enlist the expert aid of banner printing services to create decorative signage in a country’s colours like the green, white and orange on India’s flag.
A wide array of edible delights will be waiting at the event that capture the essence of India’s gastronomy. Traditional dishes like butter chicken and super-hot curries will be served up with steaming cups of chai tea to wash them down. Modern delights will also be available to sample at the festival with fusion cooking showcasing the skills of culinary creatives in the capital.
Festival goers seeking a memento will also find a hub of market stalls selling handicrafts, textiles like pashmina scarves, and spices.
The Indian Festival will take place at the Queen Victoria Market on Sunday, October 20. The market can be found at Queen Street in the centre of Melbourne. Then festival will kick off at 10 am and run until 4 pm.
