A supportive group has been set up to help parents of children with special needs meet others in their position, while receiving guidance. Meet ups are now being held at a café in Croydon this summer, as part of an ongoing series.
Croydon parents with young children who have special needs are invited to attend the “Weekly Support and Connection Group”. Operated by the organisation Parents Who Get It, the supportive meeting takes place regularly at the suburb’s The Local Umbrella Café.
Event organisers holding local family meetings sometime look to professional Print shops to create Flyers and notices they can leave in libraries and nurseries, to encourage parents to participate.
The group is suited to parents with children aged up to six years old with special needs. All who attend are invited to join the weekly meetings to connect with other parents while sharing their personal experiences. Participants can meet other families who understand the joy and struggles of special needs parenting, and learn about local support and services available to offer help when required.
The local group has been designed with an understanding that parenting meeting can sometimes be overwhelming, and aims to supply a safe and supportive space on even the most difficult days.
The Weekly Support and Connection Group will meet at the Local Umbrella Café on Thursday, December 19. The café is situated at 70 Main Street in Croydon, and the meetings will begin at 9.30 am.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Print
