Croydon area to welcome indie giants

An iconic American band from the independent music scene is set to play in Melbourne.

Fans of indie music from Croydon and other Melbourne suburbs will soon get the opportunity to see alt-rock legends Pixies in concert when they play the Forum this December. From local clubs and cafes to international stadiums and auditoriums, venues of all sizes hosting live music often seek out professional poster printing services to create advertisements for upcoming attractions.

Formed in Boston back in 1986 by Charles Thompson aka Black Francis, Pixies are credited with establishing the alternative rock sound that emerged in the late 1980s and early 90s. many world-famous bands cite the group as an influence, including music giants like Radiohead and Nirvana.

After four albums in the studio, Pixies disbanded, with group members going solo. Black Francis became Frank Black while bassist Kim Deal formed the Breeders. However, in 2004 the band reunited to tour and later record.

Those attending the Melbourne gig will have the chance to hear the Pixies play a selection of classic tracks which may include “Debaser”, “Stormy Weather”, “Where Is My Mind?”, “Gouge Away”, “Monkey Gone To Heaven” and “No. 13 Baby”.

The Pixies will now perform live at the Forum Melbourne situated at 154 Flinders Street in Melbourne on Wednesday, December 7. The show will start at 7.15 pm and end at 10 pm.
